Does the Canada Dental Care Plan Cover Dentures?

The Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP) has made dentures far more affordable for many Canadians. If you’ve been putting off new dentures because of cost, it’s worth checking whether you qualify.

Who qualifies for the CDCP?

The plan is aimed at Canadian residents without private dental insurance who meet the income guidelines. Eligibility has expanded over time, so even if you didn’t qualify before, you may now. You apply through the Government of Canada, and once approved you’ll receive coverage details.

Does it cover dentures?

Yes. The CDCP includes removable complete and partial dentures, as well as many related services such as relines and repairs, subject to the plan’s rules and frequencies. Some services may need pre-authorization, though this has been simplified for certain complete dentures.

Not sure if you qualify? Bring your CDCP details (or questions) to a free consultation and we’ll walk you through what’s covered for your situation.
